Sean Malone, PsyD
Clinical Psychologist
I am coming to Milestones with a strong background working with adolescents in behavioral management programs, including almost 20 years of experience practicing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I firmly believe in the Transtheoretical approach and tailoring a patient's treatment to fit their needs. Utilizing evidence-based practices is tantamount to promoting growth and change as these lend themselves to tangible goals that can be achieved with assistance from a skilled practitioner.
My belief is that a collaborative therapeutic process is key to a child/adolescent's ability to self-actualize. The introduction of therapy into a child's life supports the development of this critical life skill. By working to resolve obstacles and reduce symptoms, we can build a bridge that leads to success. I have always found it rewarding to not only see a child in therapy enjoy the benefits of treatment but to see them grow and flourish.
I am delighted to be a part of a clinical team that works collaboratively to assess the problem areas, design a treatment plan, and execute a treatment intervention that fits the needs of the individual. I believe that an understanding of the child, the impact of their environment, and familial interactions will result in the building blocks to lifelong success.
