Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Parents, teachers, and other caregivers play a pivotal role in a child's development. As such, collaborating with both the Milestones team and all members of your child's care network is a vital part of my therapeutic approach. I am committed to gaining a comprehensive understanding of your child across all environments, aiding in guiding treatment, and offering support.
My expertise encompasses formal training in various therapeutic methods, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Selective Mutism treatments, and the Social Thinking curriculum. I am proud to offer these services at Milestones. Additionally, I serve as a clinician on the Milestones' Compass team, providing intensive community-based interventions in settings like homes, schools, and camps. My experience extends to working with numerous private and public schools in New York City, partnering with families to deliver therapeutic and behavioral support that yields generalizable outcomes. I often adopt a multifaceted approach with families, involving parent training, direct psychotherapeutic and/or behavioral work with the child, and a school component that might include teacher training or the development of an in-school behavior plan.
My objective is to equip parents, teachers, and other professionals with the skills and strategies I use, enabling them to support children in developing confidence, self-regulation, and effective communication skills. In collaboration with your child's team, I share my treatment goals and methods so they can be applied across various settings.
Working with your child and family, I provide evidence-based treatment, monitor progress, and conduct check-ins. I also make clinically warranted adjustments to treatment goals, ensuring continuous progress for your child. My goal is to foster self-confidence and social responsibility in your child within their community. My previous experiences, including roles as a head counselor at a social skills summer camp and leading social skills groups, have greatly influenced my approach to incorporating social skills development into treatment plans for children facing anxiety and self-regulation challenges that affect their social interactions.
